LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Trine University softball team was ranked second again by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA)/GoRout Division III Coaches Poll, the fourth week in a row that they have held the spot.

The Thunder retained 240 points in the poll for the second spot. Undefeated Virginia Wesleyan University continued their run as the undisputed top team in the country. Linfield University, Saint Mary's (Minn.) University and Texas Lutheran University rounded out the unchanged top five.

Trine played a road doubleheader at Ohio Northern University a week ago. It was their only competition of the week. They swept the Polar Bears in the series. The first game was a close one, ending in a 5-3 score with Debbie Hill plating the deciding run. Game two ended early after the offense exploded for 10 runs, while allowing just one to the opposition. Emma Lee led the team with four RBIs in the game.

The Thunder are scheduled to host Adrian College in their Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) opening doubleheader. Those contests are set to start at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 3.
