CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Trine University men's track and field team posted strong performances amongst Division I and II competition at the WashU Distance Carnival and the Cedarville University Yellow Jacket Open.
Max Van Huis moved to fourth in program history with a 30:46.12 effort in the 10000-meters for a 31
st place finish of 97 competitors.
Ryan Hoopingarner and
Blake Overmyer competed in the 5000-meter run, finishing in times of 14:52.77 and 15:15.79.
Trine placed 24
th of 27 teams at the Cedarville Yellow Jacket Open with 2 points. Ashland University took the team title with 133 points.
Andrew Grau and
Eli Shoup led the Thunder with a pair of eighth place finishes. Grau took eighth in the javelin throw with a toss of 41.22 meters/135' 3" and Shoup was eighth in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 9:56.14.
Preston Nofziger cleared 4.57 meters/15' in the pole vault for 10
th place and a new #8 all-time mark.
Colten Zableckis was 14
th in the hammer throw, heaving 47.94 meters/157' 3' and
Brady Millington was 15
th with a 4:04.23 performance in the 1500-meter run.
Trine heads to the Manchester University Spartan Invitational next Saturday
