Seven Thunder Earn All-Academic Honors From USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS - The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has announced its All-Academic Individuals and Teams. The Trine University women's cross country team earned the team award and had seven individuals selected as All-Academic winners as well. 

To earn the team award a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 or higher on a 4.0 scale in the most recent grading period. The Thunder posted a team GPA of 3.74 for the semester, the 38th highest in the country. As a team Trine tied for the third most individual selections with seven. 

To earn an individual selection an athlete must have a GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25% of their respective regional championship meet. All seven of Trine's scoring runners from the team's ninth place finish at the NCAA Championships earned the award. 

Grace Dubsky (Chemical Engineering), Chloe Goodrich (Elementary and Special Education), Halle Overmire (Exercise Science/Pre-Physical Therapy), Bailey Puckett (Exercise Science), Courtney Study (Exercise Science/Pre-Physical Therapy), Sidney Swick (Exercise Science/Physical Therapy), and Eleanor Young (Exercise Science/Physical Therapy) all earned All-Academic Status.

This marks Goodrich's fourth All-Academic honor, the third for Puckett and Young and the second for Swick and Study. Overmire and Dubsky earned their first award.
