EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Trine University women's cross country team competed at the Michigan State Cross Country Invitational this morning at Forest Akers Golf Course. The Thunder placed 21
st of 24 teams with 683 points.
Trine opted to rest its top runners to allow the team's younger runners to gain experience racing at a large meet. Teams were limited to 15 runners each.
Laeceigh Farris was Trine's top finisher, crossing the line in 25:16.3. Fellow freshman,
Hailey Sills, was next for Trine in 25:56.4 and was followed closely by
Samantha Wogaman in 26:03.3. Rounding out the Thunder's scoring runners were
Jenna Chapin and
Erinn Verkennes.
Trine returns to action in three weeks at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational on October 2 and the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on October 3.
