ALMA, Mich. – The Trine University men's wrestling team cruised to a 31-6 victory over Alma College, their second Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) win of the season.

The Thunder started the match with a win from Kaden Golder who led at 125 from the start. He ended the match with a 9-2 victory. Ben Edwards followed behind with a 10-4 win at 133, building the team's lead to 6-0.

The first win for the Scots came at 141 in a 10-4 decision that cut the deficit to 6-3.

Trine pulled away after the loss. Christopher Briner at 149, Nayl Sbay at 174 and Gavin Malone at 184 each turned in tech fall victories to give the team five points each. Austin Crowder was the final member of the team to earn bonus point with a major decision at 157. Julante Hinton at 197 and Lakin Webb at 165 each added three team points with victories by decision.

Alma won the final match to make the final score 31-6.

The Thunder improve to 4-6 overall and 2-1 in MIAA play after the win. They will take the mats for their final dual match of the season on Thursday, February 12. They are set to host Albion College with the first match starting at 7 p.m.
