SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Trine University men's track and field team finished ninth of 22 teams at Saturday's Wittenberg Steemer Showcase. The Thunder totaled 31 points. Cedarville University took the win with 109 points, Wittenberg was second with 66.75 and the University of Indianapolis was third with 50 points.
Braden Estep was third in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 22.00 seconds and bettering his #2 all-time mark.
Kyle Redd and
Rushawn James moved to #5 and #7 in program history in the 400-meter dash. Redd finished in 50.34 seconds and James in 50.67. Redd and James teamed up with
Cole Figg and
Hunter Eifert for a sixth place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.
Brady Millington scored four points in the mile run with a personal best of 4:19.75 and is now fifth in program history.
Drew Sillaway and
Max Van Huis were fourth and fifth in the 3000-meter run. Sillaway moved to second all-time with a time of 8:29.74, behind Van Huis' record mark from last year.
Nicholas Spielman and
Ryan Hoopingarner scored nine points in the 5000-meters. Spielman ran 15:05.52 and is ninth in program history.
Trine hosts the annual Mrs. G Invitational on Friday, February 6. The meet is set for a 3 p.m. start time.
