ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's track and field team claimed four event victories in its annual Sean Brady Invitational on Saturday. The Thunder claimed wins in the 60-meter dash, 800-meters, Mile Run, and 3000-meter runs. The meet was not team scored.
Braden Estep stormed to a new #2 all-time mark with a 6.90 second finish in the 60 dash,
Mason Turske claimed second.
Trine took spots 2-4 in the 400-meter dash with
Kyle Redd (52.30),
Brady Snyder (53.70), and
Rushawn James (54.20) claiming the spots.
Trine placed the top nine runners in the 800 meters with
Nolan Grant taking the win in 2:02.67.
Drew Sillaway was second and
Brody Amthor was third.
Sillaway and
Brady Millington posted #10 and #8 all-time marks in the mile run. Millington got the win in 4:24.14 out legging Sillaway up the homestretch, who finished in 4:24.67.
Max Van Huis and
Nicholas Spielman finished 1-2 in the 3000-meters, Van Huis won in 8:45.34 and Spielman crossed in 8:49.43.
Cole Figg,
Hunter Eifert, Turske, and Estep teamed up for a second place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.
Silver was the theme in the field events for Trine.
Preston Nofziger cleared 4.15 meters/13' 7.25" in the pole vault for second place.
Trevor Freel was second in the long jump with a leap measuring 6.13 meters/20' 1.5".
Colten Zableckis and
Myles Jackson were runner up in the shot put and weight throw. Zableckis launched the shot 14.35 meters/47' 1" and Jackson heaved 35 pounds 15.41 meters/50' 6.75".
Trine travels to Hillsdale's Wide Track Classic next Friday.
