ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's wrestling team held an early lead, but The University of Olivet staged a comeback to secure the 31-11 victory. The dual match was the first for both teams in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play.

Kaden Golder put the Thunder on the right foot to start, winning the 125 match in spectacular fashion. After a dominant first period he scored the pin just over a minute into the second period, giving the team a 6-0 lead.

After a major decision against Trine at 133, Tommy Miller posted more bonus points for the home side. He quickly built a commanding lead before four near-fall points in the second period gave him the tech fall victory and five team points.

The Comets flipped the script in the next match before taking a lead with a major decision at 157. The rest of the matches went to the visitors as they built their final lead of 31-11. All but one match in the second half was decided by four points or less.

The Thunder fall to 2-6 overall and 0-1 in MIAA play. The team will send a delegation to the Al Hanke Invitational for their next competition. That event is hosted by Elmhurst University and will take place on Saturday, January 17.
