FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced their 2025 All-MIAA Baseball selections. Junior
Cole Schmidthuber has been named to the first team as a center fielder. This marks Schmidthuber's first All-MIAA selection. He is the first Trine University baseball player to be named All-MIAA first team since 2018.
In the field, Schmidthuber recorded a perfect fielding percentage on 83 total chances, he recorded 81 put-outs and 2 assists. He was a part of one double play. The play came on March 18
th at Anderson University. Schmidthuber caught a fly ball for out one, the beat the runner to third with the throw for out two.
At the plate Schmidthuber hit .362 with 34 hits, four doubles, and a triple. He was 7 of 9 stealing bases and earned 20 walks for an on base percentage of .483. Schmidthuber led the team in batting average, walks, on base percentage, and stole bases.
In MIAA play, he hit .352 good for tenth best in the league. His on base percentage of .464 was good for seventh. He was one of 10 players in the MIAA with a perfect fielding percentage in conference games and one of two players to not record an error for the entire season.
