Zion Jackson Earns All-America Status at NCAA Championships

GENEVA, Ohio. - Zion Jackson earned All-America status in the men's 110-meter hurdles at the NCAA Division III Championships this afternoon. Jackson took third place, finishing in 14.21 seconds. Also competing for the Thunder was Bailey Puckett. Puckett earned second team All-America honors with a ninth place finish in the 1500-meter run.


This marked Jackson's first trip to an NCAA Championships event. He becomes Trine's second All-American in the 110-meter hurdles and third in a hurdle race. Jake Gladieux was an All-American in the 110-meter hurdles three times and was a national champion in the 400-meter hurdles. Russell Dill was also an All-American in the 400-meter edition. Jackson concludes his sophomore season with MIAA titles in the 60-meter hurdles, 110-meter hurdles, 4x100-relay and the aforementioned All-America honor in the 110-meter hurdles. 


Puckett made her third trip to an NCAA Championship event this year. She was on the cross country team that qualified for the NCAA Championships in the fall and then qualified to her first track championships during the indoor season in the 1-mile run. She placed ninth this afternoon in the 1500-meter run, finishing in 4:36.33 and earning second team All-America status. Puckett concludes her junior season with three NCAA appearances, MIAA titles in the 1-mile run and 1500-meter run, and her first career All-America honor.


This concludes the season for the Thunder Track and Field teams.
