GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –
Carter Schnipke led the Trine University men's golf team to a co-team championship on Monday afternoon at the Knight Invite hosted by Calvin University. This marks the Thunder's seventh tournament win on the year. The Thunder shot a 324 and tied with NAIA Cornerstone College. Hosts Calvin took third, with their "B" and "C" teams taking fourth and fifth. Trine's "B" team was sixth, Davenport (Mich.) was seventh and Hope was ninth.
Schnipke posted the low score on the day for Trine with a six-over 77 for fourth place individually,
Colin Crumrine tied for sixth and led the "B" team.
Garrett James and MIAA Golfer of the Week
Jack Besner tied for twelfth with 82s and
Jake Bilby was fifteenth with an 83 to round out the championship team.
Nicholas Coccaro also posted a top-15 finish for the "B" team, also shooting 83.
Trine heads to Chardon, Ohio for the Cashera-Dicillo Classic hosted by John Carroll University on Sunday and Monday.
