ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University Men's Golf team swept the top 10 individual and the top five team places on a chilly and windy senior day at Zollner Golf Course.
Jack Besner took home medalist honors and led his squad to the team title.
Besner fired a 72 with birdies on three, seven, twelve, and thirteen. He was followed closely by
Garrett James who placed second individually with a 74 with birdies on three and eighteen, third on the Trine "A" team was
Jake Bilby who took fifth place individually with a 78 and and bested the seventh and eighteenth to take two strokes off par.
Trevor Vietti rounded out the A squad in 10
th place individually with an 80, he also birdied the 537-yard par five seventh.
The Trine "D" team took second with
Carter Valencic,
Nathan Brennan and
Ryan Gienger placing in the top ten.
The "B" team led by
Colin Crumrine, third, and
Asher Caldwell, 10
th, was third.
The "E" team took fourth and were led by
Jakob Allman's 79 that placed him eighth.
In fifth place was the "C" team,
Wade Shafer led that squad in fifth place with a 78.
Indiana-Kokomo, St. Francis (IN), and Holy Cross (IN) also competed and took sixth, seventh, and eighth.
The Thunder will head to the Knight Invitational hosted by Calvin University on Monday at noon.
