BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Trine University acrobatics and tumbling team ended their season with a pair of event finals victories at the 2025 NCATA Division III Championship Tournament. In addition, the Thunder had three members of the team earn All-Tournament status and nine earn DIII All-Academic.
Members of the team competed in nine of the event finals. The first victory came during the Synchronized Toss Heat. Ten student-athletes took the mat for the Thunder during the heat including seniors Margaret Armintrout, Mia Giurini and Aimee Slivinski; juniors Lauren Alexander and Courtney Welsch; sophomores Lillianne Boyd, Lauren Hillin, Juliana Porco and Emma Wilke; and freshman Ava Henderson.
The group posted a season high 8.725 in the event to earn the win over both Texas Lutheran University and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
The Thunder picked up their other win in the Quad Pass of the Tumbling Event. They scored another season high score of 7.650 to defeat Concordia University Wisconsin and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Giurini, Porco, Alexander and Wilkie made up the group for Trine.
Armintrout and Giurini earned First Team All-Tournament honors for their performance over the weekend. Alexander took home second team honors.
Alexander, Boyd, Giurini, Hillin, Porco and Welsch were joined by Olivia Hartup, Alexandra Misson and Megan TenHarkel on the All-Academic Team. To be named to the team student-athletes must achieve a 3.75 GPA or higher over three or more semesters.
