WAVERLY, Iowa. – The Trine University Track and Field teams competed at this afternoon's Wartburg Final Qualifier. Trine sent four student athletes to compete in one final chance to improve their NCAA Championships qualifying marks.
 
Max Van Huis competed in the 5000-meter run. He finished 8^th in 15:03.53. He ranks 28^th nationally.
 
Bailey Puckett won the mile run in a time of 4:57.36, she ranks 23^rd nationally.
 
Courtney Study was 12^th in the same race, finishing in 5:13.37.
 
Sidney Swick took 4th in the 5000-meter run in 18:00.82. She ranks 41^st nationally.
 
The official list of NCAA qualifiers will be released tomorrow. The top 22 declared entries will qualify. Ethan Spahr is currently qualified in the heptathlon. Van Huis and Puckett are each on the outside looking in but have a good chance to qualify if other athletes do not declare.
