MARION, Ind. – The Trine University Track and Field teams competed at the Indiana Wesleyan Polar Bear Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The throwers were the lone representatives for the Thunder.
The women's shot put kicked things off with
Hailey Cole and
Abby Sanner taking fifth and sixth in a tough field. Cole opened her collegiate throwing career after an impressive freshman campaign on the basketball team with a toss of 12.53 meters/41' 1.25", Sanner added a personal best of 21 centimeters, tossing 12.48 meters/40' 11.25".
Colton Wampler was up next in the javelin throw, he placed 16
th with a throw of 40.57 meters/133' 1".
Sanner was 13
th in the discus with a toss of 36.81 meters/120' 9".
Trace Stookey took 21
st in the discus with a personal best of 39.95 meters/131' 1".
Dillon Dennison took 14
th in the hammer throw with a throw of 47.05 meters/154' 4".
