Spahr, Puckett Compete at NCAA Championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Ethan Spahr and Bailey Puckett competed at this afternoon's NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships. This marked both athlete's first time competing in the NCAA Track and Field Championships. Spahr competed in the heptathlon and Puckett ran the mile.
 
Puckett entered ranked 16th and placed 18th in a tough field. She finished in 5:03.45, this is Puckett's second time competing on the national stage this year. In Cross Country season she competed at the NCAA Championships as well.
 
Spahr entered the day ranked 15th in the heptathlon, he leaves the day in third place after tallying 2,870 points. He opened the day with a personal best in the 60-meter dash, scoring 813 points. In the long jump he leapt 6.84 meters/22' 5.25" for 776 points. In the shot put he finished with a best toss of 11.35 meters/37' 3" good for 567 points. In the high jump he scored 714 points with a clearance of 1.90 meters/6' 2.75".

On day two, Spahr opened with a personal best of 8.70 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles to score 813 points, he ranked seventh with 3683 points heading into the pole vault. He was unable to clear his opening height of 4.10 meters and did not score any points. He finished in 18th place overall.
