ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Trine University men's track and field team wrapped up a record breaking two days at the GVSU Big Meet this afternoon.
Max Van Huis set his third program record of the year, while
Tyler Hartleroad and
Ethan Spahr each notched their second.
Van Huis returned to the same track he set the previous program record at in December, he demolished that mark by over 19 seconds, placing 7
th in a field littered with Division I and II competition. He finished in 14:19.44, he ranks 16
th in Division III with that performance.
Hartleroad shaved .30 seconds off his 800-meter run record from just two weeks ago, placing 8
th in 1:55.19.
Zack Gaynor added a 10
th place finish with a personal best of 1:56.00.
Spahr also took down a record of his own, besting his old triple jump record by 23 centimeters leaping 13.59 meters/44' 7" for a third place finish. He added a second place in the long jump with a jump of 6.86 meters/22' 6.25".
Maxwell Harris was fourth in the 60-meter dash with a new personal best of 6.98 seconds.
Braden Estep was seventh in the 200-meter dash, crossing in 22.30 seconds.
Zion Jackson finished the 60-meter hurdle race in 8.58 seconds for an eighth place finish. Jackson was fourth in the long jump with a 6.66 meter/21' 10.25" effort.
Trine heads to the Hillsdale Tune Up on Friday for a final meet before the MIAA Championships.
