FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced the results of their Women's Indoor Track and Field Coaches' Poll. The Trine University Women's Track and Field team is selected second with 12 points and three first place votes, Calvin University is the favorite with 11 points and four first place votes.
Hope College is third in the poll with 16 points; Albion is fourth with 30 and first-year program Kalamazoo is selected fifth with 34 points. Adrian is sixth with 38 points followed by Alma with 41 and The University of Olivet with 42.
Trine placed second at last year's indoor and outdoor championships. The Thunder captured the MIAA Cross Country Championship this fall and will look to a strong distance contingent to score points at the MIAA Championships. Senior national qualifier
Sidney Swick will lead the Thunder in the long-distance events, Swick was All-MIAA in the 3000- and 5000-meter runs during the indoor season and was the MIAA Champion in the 10,000-meters, the same event she qualified to the NCAA Championships.
Chloe Goodrich will second Swick in the longer events, Goodrich was runner up in the 10,000 and was fourth in the 5000 at the indoor meet.
The middle-distance events will be led by senior All-American
Bailey Puckett and senior
Eleanor Young. Puckett is the defending champion in the mile run at the indoor championships, she backed it up at the outdoor meet with the win in the 1500 and qualified for the NCAA Championships where she placed ninth and earned second-team All-America honors from the USTFCCCA. Young was second in the mile run at last season's indoor championships and added a seventh-place finish in the 3000-meter run. The distance squad also features
Grace Dubsky,
Courtney Study, and
Halle Overmire, all members of the Thunder cross country team that placed ninth at the NCAA Championships.
The sprints group is led by senior
Emma Forker and sophomore
Ariana Todd. Todd placed in the 60- and 200-meter dashes at the 2025 indoor championships and added top-eight finishes in the 100 and 200. Forker placed third in the long jump at the indoor championships and was fourth and fifth, respectively in the 100 and 200-meter dashes at the outdoor championships. She teamed up with
Sophia Peter and Todd in the 4x100-meter relay for a school record. Peter was the MIAA Champion in the 100-meter hurdles and will look to back up her title in the 60-meter discipline.
The field event group is led by the jumpers.
Olivia Andrews and
Avery Boyce will led the pole vaulters. Andrews set both the indoor and outdoor school records as a freshman last season and claimed the outdoor conference title after a third place finish indoors. Boyce ranks second in program history both indoors and out. She placed third at the outdoor championships.
In the high jump, school record holder
Emmaline Leatherman will lead the group. Leatherman was third indoors last year and will also compete in the long and triple jump.
Jill Taylor comes over after a successful freshman season on the soccer team and will high jump for the Thunder.
Adrianne Jackson will also compete in the long jump and holds the school record in both the heptathlon and pentathlon.
Trine opens their season on Friday at the Saginaw Valley State Holiday Open.
