SAGINAW, Mich. – Hannah Flores Ness toppled a pair of school records in her first meet as a member of the Trine University Women's Track and Field team on Friday at the Saginaw Valley State Holiday Opne. She took down the program record in the high jump on her way to a new standard in the pentathlon at the Saginaw Valley State Holiday Open. The Thunder set 14 new top-10 all-time marks, the meet was not team scored.

Flores Ness cleared 1.59 meters/5' 2.5" in the high jump to set the new program record. She added a new #5-all time mark in the 60-meter hurdles of 9.56 seconds, tossed the shot put 8.06 meters/26' 5.5", long jumped 4.83 meters/15' 10.25" and finally, covered the 800-meter run in 2:44.25 to set a new program record of 2,962 points in the pentathlon.

Flores Ness was not alone in her rewriting of the record book. Avery Boyce took down teammate Olivia Andrews' school record in pole vault with a clearance of 3.27 meters/10' 8.75". Andrews had something to say about that, clearing the same bar on her next attempt. Neither woman was able to clear the next height and now share the record.

Also setting new program marks were Eleanor Young, Bailey Puckett, and Chloe Goodrich. The trio followed up a spectacular cross country season with personal bests in the 3000- and 5000-meter runs at Grand Valley State. Puckett and Young set new bests in the 3000, crossing in 9:57.38 and 10:03.61. Puckett becomes the second woman in Trine history to break 10 minutes in the race and Young moves up to #3 all-time. Goodrich ran a little farther, covering 5000 meters in 17:47.56 and moving to #6 all-time.

Emma Forker and Ariana Todd moved up to #3 and #6 all-time in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 26.21 and 26.55 seconds, respectively.

Freshman Kaylee Birely also made an impact in her first meet, she clocked 1:01.30 in the 400-meter dash for a new #5 program mark. She then led off the 4x400 relay squad of her, Taryn Pratt, Alyssa Possehn, and Todd. The team finished in 4:11.24 and now owns the eighth fastest time.

Pratt also raced the 800 meters, crossing in 2:20.14 and is now fifth in program history.
In the throws, Macy Bonifield heaved the weight 13.08 meters/42' 11" and is now 10th in school history.

The Thunder will return to action following winter break when they host the Sean Brady Alumni Invitational on January 17th.
