ALBION, Mich. –  A pair of wrestlers placed while representing Trine University at the 2025 Albion Women's Invite this past Sunday. Erin Scully headlined the group with a fifth-place finish while Jazlynn Golder finished seventh.
Scully competed at 131 and opened the day with a victory by fall over Marisa Moffitt of Indiana Tech. The sophomore followed up with a tech fall in the quarterfinals before dropping to the consolation bracket and then the fifth-place match with a pair of losses. Scully finished the day with another victory by fall to secure the finish.
At 110, Golder dropped two of her first three matches, finding herself in the seventh-place contest. There she secured her spot with a tech fall victory (10-0) in the third minute of the match.
Madison Small won a pair of matches to start her day, one by 4-1 decision and the other a tech fall, before dropping out of the 138 bracket with a pair of losses. Jenna Thompson won her opening match with a fall before dropping out of the 131 bracket. Laylah Hicks and Kristine Piatt-Bakos also competed for the Thunder.
Trine will enjoy an extended break going forward, next returning to the mats during the Berg Holiday Duals which are scheduled for Saturday, December 13.
