ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's wrestling team dropped their first dual match of the season to visiting Manchester University by the score of 31-15.

The visiting Spartans took the first four matches of the dual, three of them with bonus points. They built an 18-0 lead during the stretch. Austin Crowder kept it from being a first half shutout by taking the 157 match with a 9-7 decision. He held off a late push by the opposition to secure the win with an extra point added for riding time.

After the break, Manchester secured the dual in the first two matches of the second half. Both came with bonus points and put them up 27-3.

Gavin Malone earned the first bonus points of the contest for the Thunder, scoring a victory by fall at the 1:05 mark of the 184 match. Davin George accepted a victory by forfeit for the final points of the match with the 31-15 score going final.

Trine will continue their season by traveling to the BW Invite on Saturday, November 22. The event is hosted by Baldwin Wallace University and will begin in the morning.
