ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's basketball team will begin the 2025-26 season with national recognition after earning nine votes in the D3hoops.com preseason poll. The Thunder finished last season also receiving votes.
 
Trine finished 21-5 a season ago, advancing to the MIAA semifinals before bowing out to Hope College. Trine will be under the direction of first year head coach Jon VanderWal, who spent the previous 18 seasons as the head coach of the Marietta College Pioneers.
 
Calvin is the lone other representative of the MIAA, checking in at #12.
