ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's basketball team has announced their 2025-26 schedule. The Thunder open the season with a home game against Ohio Northern on November 7^th. Last season, the Thunder finished 21-5 and made an appearance in the MIAA Semifinals. Jon VanderWal will lead the Thunder this season, VanderWal spent the past 17 seasons leading the Marietta College Pioneers.
 
After their opener against the Polar Bears, Trine travels to Illinois Tech on November 12^th and hosts Baldwin Wallace on November 15^th. The Thunder will then play in the annual Great Lakes Invitational, hosted by Washington and Jefferson on November 21^st and 22^nd. The Thunder will play Mary Washington before taking on Coach VanderWal's old squad. Trine then heads to Anderson on November 26^th. The Thunder return to the MTI Center on December 3^rd to host the Heidelberg Student Princes. They will then head to Florida for the Mauro Panaggio Tournament where they will play Washington and Lee and either Brockport St. or Piedmont on December 15^th and 16^th. Trine closes the non-conference slate at Manchester and at Wabash.
 
MIAA play opens with a road trip to Hope before hosting Alma. Trine travels to Albion on January 14^th before playing Adrian on January 17^th in what will be their final home game on a Saturday for over a month. From there Trine plays at home on Wednesdays and travels on the weekends. They head to Olivet, Alma, Adrian, Calvin, and Kalamazoo and host Calvin, Albion, Hope and Olivet. The season concludes on February 21^st when the Thunder host Olivet.
