ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's hockey team has announced their schedule for the 2025-26 season. 
The 2024-25 season saw the Thunder make their first appearance in the NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Championship tournament where they scored their first win with a 4-1 victory over visiting Oswego State University of New York, who open the season 12th in the poll, in the first round. The Thunder took the now three-time defending national champion Statesmen to overtime before exiting the playoffs with a 3-2 loss.
In addition to the postseason success, the final record of 21-7-2 was the most wins and fewest losses in program history.
This season begins with a stretch of road contests, the first a scrimmage against Adrian College on Saturday, October 25. The year officially begins when the team heads to Canton, N.Y. for games against SUNY Canton, on Friday, October 31, and Misericordia University on Saturday, November 1.
Throughout the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) portion of the season the team will face the same opponent on consecutive nights with the first matchup coming on the road against Concordia University Wisconsin beginning on Friday, November 7. 
The Thunder's home opener and parents weekend begins on Friday, November 14 against the University of Dubuque. They finish off the 2025 portion of the schedule with road games against the Milwaukee School of Engineering and home series against St. Norbert College and Buffalo State University. 
Trine opens 2026 with a road series against Saint John's (Minn.) University beginning Friday, January 2. They follow up with a non-conference tilt against Adrian College on Thursday, January 8 and then an exhibition in Plymouth, Mich. against the United States National Team Development Program on Saturday, January 10.
The Thunder finish the NCHA regular season with road series against Lawrence University and Lake Forest College before returning home with Aurora University and Marian University. The contests against Marian are scheduled for Friday, February 6 which will serve as Alumni Night and Saturday, February 7 which is Senior Day.
The regular season concludes with a home-and-home series against Adrian College. Trine heads to Michigan for the Friday, February 13 contest and then spends Valentine's Day at home.
