FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Members of the Trine University women's wrestling team traveled to the Warrior Women's Open, an event hosted by Indiana Tech. Grapplers were able to compete in two different levels of competition at the event, with a pair of Thunder in the Maximus bracket and the rest competing in the Pancake division.

Madison Small and Hailey Budney each competed in the upper bracket at 138 and 145 respectively. Small recorded a win by fall in her second match of the day for the lone win between the pair.

In the lower bracket, Ashton Francis had the best day of the delegation finishing sixth at 207. She opened the day with pin and then recorded a 4-3 win in the quarterfinal round of the bracket. After dropping her third match she lost twice in the consolation bracket to finish sixth.

Also competing for the team were Erin Scully and Jenna Thompson at 131 and Emma Skipper at 138.

The team is next scheduled to compete when they travel to Albion College for a dual contest on Thursday, February 13.
