RENO, Nev. – Junior
Hayden Hale has qualified for Team USA through the United States Bowling Coaches Team USA Trials which took place January 2-7
th at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nevada.

The field was made up of 190 of the best bowlers in the country. Bowlers competed in 5 rounds of qualifying which consisted of 6 games per round. Each round featured different oil patterns, to determine the top 8 bowlers for the adult and junior teams. The top six finishers earned an automatic spot on the team, while the final two spots were awarded by the national selection committee.

Hale earned one of the two selections, averaging 214 pins over the entire week. He averaged 226 on day one, 210.5 on day two, 203 on day three, 227.5 on day 4, and 203.6 on day five. Hayden finished 28
th overall, 19
th among amateurs, and 9
th among junior amateurs. There were 182 total competitors, 151 were amateurs, and 104 were junior amateurs.

Hayden will now represent Junior Team USA and attend team camp this later this year for a chance to bowl overseas. Hayden joins teammate Micah Voorhis as the second Team USA bowler in the program. Hale looks to secure the programs second ever All-American honor with two regular season tournaments to go. Hale currently holds the 8
th highest collegiate average in the country.
