Men's Indoor Dominates at Home

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University Men's Track and Field team resumed their season with a dominant performance at today's Sean Brady Alumni Invitational. The Thunder earned four event victories and 23 top-three finishes. The meet was not scored, teams competing today were Albion, Heidelberg, Adrian, and Trine. Members of the track and field alumni also competed.
 
Braden Estep and Max Harris went 2-3 in the 60-meter dash finishing in 6.98 and 7.03 seconds.
 
Evan Straske, Mason Turske, and Jackson Keiser swept the podium in the 200, clocking 23.55, 23.59, and 23.69, respectively.
 
In the 400 Brady Snyder and Blane Johnson were second and third, finishing in 51.97 and 53.55 seconds.
 
Eli Shoup and Matt Rankin also finished second and third, finishing the 600-meter race in 1:29.05 and 1:29.58.
 
The men swept spots 1-7 in the 800-meter run. Tyler Harkleroad claimed the win in 1:58.33, Zack Gaynor and Sam Sering dipped under two minutes for second and third place. Nolan Grant, Philip Nemecek, Brody Amthor, and Sam Slough rounded out the sweep.
 
Rankin doubled back from the 400 to take third in the mile, crossing in 4:40.86.
 
Max Van Huis continued his impressive campaign in the 3000-meter run, breaking the tape and finishing in 8:39.09. Joseph Packard took second in 8:46.64.
 
Kanaan Jewett took bronze in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in 8.92 seconds.
 
Snyder teamed up with Hartleroad, Morgan Johnson, and Ethan Spahr in the 4x400-meter relay for a second place finish.
 
Hunter Eifert took second in high jump, while Spahr was second in the pole vault.
 
Zion Jackson won the long jump with a leap of 6.47 meters/21' 2.75".
 
Dillon Dennison ended the day second in the weight throw with a heave of 15.71 meters/51' 6.5"
 
Trine head to the Hillsdale Wide-Track Classic next weekend.
