ALBION, Mich. – Freshman Jack Besner carded a three-under 69 to claim medalist honors and lead the Trine University Men's Golf team to a victory today at the Cascades Clash, hosted by Albion College.
Overall, the Thunder claimed the top four individual spots as Junior Carter Schnipke was second with a two-under 70, Freshman Jake Bilby was third with a one-under 71 and Senior Colin Crumrine tied for fourth with a +1 73. Trine entered two teams in the tournament, the team of Besner, Schnipke, Junior Garrett James, Senior Nick Coccaro, and Senior Kyler Rod claimed the team title with a score of 290 strokes. The second Thunder team finished as runners-up with 295 strokes and were led by Crumrine and Bilby.
The Thunder return to the course next Tuesday, September 10^th for the MIAA Jamboree #1 hosted by Alma at the Pine River Country Club.
