KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Four Thunder golfers tied for 12^th at the MIAA Jamboree #2 to lead the Trine men's golf team to a third place finish at the Kalamazoo Country Club.
 
Carter Schnipke, Garrett James, Jack Besner, and Asher Caldwell all carded rounds of 75 (+4) and tied for the 12^th place individual spot to give Trine a team total of 300 (+16) and claim bronze. Hope took the team title by one stroke of Calvin. Schnipke recorded two birdies and ten pars on the day, his birdies came on the 517 yard par-5 first and 319 yard par-4 tenth. James also birdied one and ten and added another on the par-4 fourteenth, James also dropped in 10 pars. Besner made the first of his three birdies on hole one, adding the others on the 208-yard par 3 twelfth and on seventeen, a 336 yard par four. He knocked in nine birdies on the day. Caldwell led the Thunder with four birdies, scoring his on the 516 yard par-5 fifth, the 357 yard par-4 thirteenth and then finishing strong with birdies on seventeen and eighteen. Eighteen was a 508 yard par-5.
 
Up next for Trine is a trip to Ottawa County, Michigan for MIAA Jamboree #3, hosted by Hope College at the Wuskowan Players Club. That is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 30^th.
