WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio – The Trine men's golf team claimed the team title this afternoon at the Region V Preview at the Manakiki Golf Course. The Thunder finished with a team total of 587 strokes, 10 ahead of second place John Carroll University. The Thunder followed up their 288 stroke performance with another impressive sub-300 round with 299 strokes today.

Carter Schnipke tied for medalist honors with Zachary Abdallah of Pitt-Greensburg, finishing with a one-under 143. Schnipke carded five birdies and seven pars today to bring his weekend total to 11 birdies and 16 pars.

Garrett James was third finishing at even par with a one-over 73 finishing the tournament with 144 total strokes. James added two more birdies and 13 pars today, giving him 7 birdies and 24 pars for the weekend. James birdied the par 3 eleventh and par 5 thirteenth on both days.

Jack Besner finished in a tie for sixth place with 148 strokes. Besner was able to recover from a 42 on the front nine to post a 35 on the back and card out with a 77. He added 2 birdies and 10 pars to bring his weekend total to 6 birdies and 21 pars. Besner recorded a birdie on the thirteenth as well, as all six Thunder golfers posted a birdie on the par 5 twelfth and thirteenth holes over the weekend.

Jake Bilby  was 23
rd after posting a 76 today to round out the top 4 Thunder golfers.
Asher Caldwell competed as an individual and finished tied for ninth with 149 strokes shooting even par today with three birdies and a dozen pars.

th for the MIAA Jamboree #2 at the Kalamazoo Country Club, hosted by Kalamazoo.
