WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio – The Trine men's golf team sits in first place after one day of the Region V preview at the Manakiki Golf Course. The Thunder sit at level par with 288 strokes.
 
Carter Schnipke is fourth after a -2 70 on day one that featured six birdies and nine pars.
 
Jack Besner and Garrett James are tied for fourth after rounds of one under 71. Besner knocked in four birdies to go with 11 pars, while James notched 11 pars and five birdies, including back to back to back birdies on the par three eleven and par fives twelve and thirteen.
 
Colin Crumrine is tied for 16^th after a round of 76 with 4 birdies and 10 pars.
 
The Thunder tee off tomorrow at 8 a.m. and look to close out the victory.
