RICHMOND, Ind. – Freshman
Rylee Smith earn individual medalist honors as the Trine University women's golf team finished second at the IU East Invitational after recording 307 strokes on day two of the event.
The hosts from Indiana University East held on to the top spot in the tournament, but Trine overtook Oakland City University to move into second place.
Smith posted a second day score of 72 strokes to retain the stop spot in the individual standings and lead the team again. Second on the team was
Kayleigh Agugliaro who turned in a day two score of 76 while
Grace Dubec finished with 79 strokes. Rounding out the day two card was
Grace Thiele who posted 80 strokes.
Natalie Kulka competed as an individual for the team and turned in a pair of 76 stroke rounds, good enough to finish in a tie for second in the overall standings.
Trine will face a quick turnaround for their next competition. They are scheduled to travel to the Cascades Golf Course in Jackson, Mich. on Wednesday, September 4 for the Cascades Clash. The event, which is hosted by Albion College, is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
