RICHMOND, Ind. – The Trine University women's golf team finished the first day of the Indiana University East Fall Invitational in third and well within striking distance of the leaders.

The hosts led the way with 314 strokes while Oakland City University sits in second with 317 strokes. The Thunder holds third with their 320 strokes. Freshman Rylee Smith led the way for the team and in the tournament with a round of 74.

Trine will conclude competition at the invitational tomorrow, Saturday, August 31. The shotgun start is scheduled for 9 a.m.
