Thunder Triumph Over Flying Dutch

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's tennis team remained undefeated in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play after a 6-3 victory over visiting Hope College.

The Thunder took an early lead winning two of the doubles matches. The team of Cole Goodman and Drew Dixon had the most convincing of the wins in the No. 2 match with a score of 8-3. Then the team of Caleb Morris and Nicholas Jen came up with a hard-fought win in the No. 3 match.

Trine then secured the dual with four more wins during the singles portion of the day. Goodman had the most convincing of the wins during the singles portion of the contest, winning 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 2 match, with Dixon having the second quickest win in the No. 6 match with scores of 6-2, 6-1. Sammy Yin returned to the lineup and came up with a 6-2, 6-3 win in the No. 1 match to secure the win, before Andrew Spirrison finished the winning with a 6-2, 6-4 victory in the No. 3 match.

The Thunder improve to 9-3 overall and 2-0 in MIAA play following the victory. They will next take the courts when they host Manchester University on Monday, April 1. That match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
