UPLAND, Ind.-- The Trine men's tennis team was defeated 6-3 by Taylor University in a non-conference match Friday evening at the Meier Tennis Courts.

Victor Flynn (Grosse Pointe, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South) and Judson Quinn (Russiaville, Ind. / Western) got the Thunder on the board in doubles play. The No. 1 pairing earned an 8-6 victory. The duo improved to 4-3 when playing as Trine's top pairing as Quinn and Flynn picked up their sixth victory together this year.

Flynn was able to come back to win his match at No. 2 singles. The sophomore dropped the first set, before evening things up with a 7-5 victory in the second set. Flynn won his match by winning the third set 7-6. It was his fifth singles victory of the season.

Blake Trusty (Fremont, Ind. / Fremont) controlled his match to win the final point of the day for the Thunder. Trusty evened his record at 5-5 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. 

Trine fell to 5-7 on the season. Taylor improved to 8-10 overall.

The Thunder return to MIAA play Saturday as Trine hosts Kalamazoo at 11:30 a.m. on the Angola Middle School courts.
