Men's Tennis Wins Third-Straight Match

UPLAND, Ind.-- The Trine men's tennis team defeated Taylor 6-3 to extend its winning-streak to three matches Saturday afternoon at the TU Tennis Center.

The Thunder had to come from behind after falling behind 2-1 in doubles and had two individuals earn come-from-behind victories. Joey Clark (Sturgis, Mich./Sturgis) fell behind 1-6, 2-5 before rallying back to win the second-set 7-6 to force the deciding third set. The senior completed the comeback with the 6-3 victory to improve to 5-1. Judson Quinn (Russiaville, Ind./Western) dropped his first set 3-6, but came back to win 6-4 and earn a 10-4 tiebreak. Quinn is now 5-3. Trine improved to 5-4 with the win. Taylor falls to 3-13.

Caleb Knust (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield), Brian Zehner (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) and Spenser Gilbert (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) also picked up singles victories for the Thunder. All three players have now won three-straight matches.

Knust and Nick Cassidy (Archbold, Ohio/Perrysburg) picked up Trine's doubles point in the no. 1 flight.

Trine returns to action this Thursday with a match at NAIA-foe Spring Arbor. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
