STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Trine University men's golf team rallied up seven spots on day two of the Toftrees Invitational for a fourth-place finish. Jake Bilby led the team to a round of 287 strokes, with a round of 69, three shots under par.
 
John Carroll University claimed the team title with a score of 14 under par. Randolph-Macon College also broke par over the 36-hole tournament at 3 under for second place. Trine finished just one shot behind York College (Pa.).
 
Bilby led Trine with a 15^th place finish individually. His round this afternoon was bogey free through 14 holes before his lone bogey on hole two. He finished the day with three consecutive pars. Bilby's day shot him up 43 spots on the leaderboard. He shot a 78 on Sunday afternoon.
 
Jack Besner finished tied for 20^th for the Thunder with a two day total of 148 strokes. Besner too finished his round this afternoon under par with a 71. He birdied his first hole but four bogeys in five holes looked to derail his day. The junior righted the ship over the final ten holes, posting three birdies and seven pars.
 
Lance Decker and Nathan Brennan tied for 25^th place with two day totals of 149 strokes. Decker made 15 pars this afternoon and Brennan notched a team high eight birdies on the weekend.
 
Myles Secor placed 35^th and provided Trine's fourth score this afternoon. The sophomore nailed three birdies today and finished the front nine at two under and posted a final total of 74 strokes today and 150 for the weekend.
