ALMA, Mich. – The Trine University women's lacrosse team picked up a 19-8 win over Alma College on Tuesday evening. 11 of the Thunder's (7-4, 2-1 MIAA) goals came from
Erin Fariello and
Izabelle Dominski. The Scots fall to 2-7 (0-3 MIAA).
Trine scored seven goals on the advantage in the game with two each coming from Fariello, Dominski, and
Sydney Weiss. Trine outshot the hosts 37-21 and
Kelsey Yanagihara made 10 saves in goal. Fariello added four draw controls and four ground balls in an all-around effort. Weiss netted a hat trick and dished out five assists.
The Thunder scored just two goals in the first quarter, though it proved to be enough as the guests never trailed. Alma pulled within a 4-2 deficit before Trine piled on six goals, five on the advantage. Fariello and Dominksi completed their hat tricks with a pair of goals each. Weiss added another and assisted on two more. Trine led 10-3 at the break.
The Scots closed in a bit with three consecutive goals in the third quarter. Trine scored eight of the last ten goals to pull away for the comfortable win. Weiss completed her hat trick on an advantage goal while Fariello got help from Weiss for a second-half hat trick.
Trine hits the road again on Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. contest at Adrian College.
