ADRIAN, Mich. – The Trine University baseball team fell to nationally-ranked Adrian College on Thursday evening at Nicolay Field. The #23-ranked Bulldogs (21-8, 9-4 MIAA) defeated the Thunder (8-24, 4-9 MIAA) by a final score of 7-1.
 
Cole Schnidthuber led the Thunder with two hits, the senior has earned a hit in seven of his last ten at bats and notched his seventh multi hit game this season. Cole Temple extended his 10 game on base streak with an RBI single in the sixth.
 
Adrian showed its national prowess by jumping out to a 3-0 lead before allowing the Thunder a hit. Schmidthuber doubled in the third to record the first hit. Adrian added two more runs in the fifth before Trine answered with Temple's RBI single that scored Luke Burford. The hosts were stingy from there only allowing one more base runner and scoring two runs to close out the win.
 
The two teams will play again tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at Jannen Field. A second nine inning game will follow minutes after game one.
