ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's lacrosse team fell to Kalamazoo College 22-12 this afternoon at Zollner Stadium.
Izabelle Dominski led the Thunder (7-6, 2-3 MIAA) with five goals. Kalamazoo improves to 7-8 (3-2 MIAA).
Erin Fariello scored four goals and grabbed six draw controls. Dominski added three caused turnovers to her five goals and an assist.
Sydney Weiss had two goals and two assists.
The Hornets set the tone with three goals in the first three minutes, Weiss answered with her first to get Trine on the board. Kalamazoo built a 7-3 lead by the end of the first quarter. Trine began a rally in the second quarter that saw them pull within one goal. Dominski completed her hat trick to pull Trine within two. Fariello scored her hat trick with 38 seconds left in the first half. She added an advantage goal in the third quarter to pull Trine within a 9-8 margin.
The Hornets stifled the comeback with the next eight goals. Dominski added her last two goals in the fourth quarter and assisted
Sydney Stolberg on Trine's final goal.
Trine hosts Hope College on Saturday at 11 a.m. for Senior Day.
