ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's lacrosse team fell 9-6 to Wittenberg University on Saturday afternoon at Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium.
Isabel Fischer and
Evalyn Bellotti each had two goals for the Thunder (4-2). Wittenberg moves to 2-6 with the win.
Bellotti had six ground balls and two caused turnovers to go with her pair of goals.
Elizabeth Larson and
Sydney Strolberg added a pair of caused turnovers.
Trine started well, taking a 2-1 lead in the first quarter behind both of Fischer's goals. The Tigers pounced in the second quarter with four consecutive goals to lead 5-2. The Thunder answered back with three of the next four to pull within one.
Sienna Coventry assisted on one and scored another.
The Tigers scored the next two goals to rebuild the lead and denied the Thunder a shot on goal in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Trine heads to the Bluegrass State next week for a pair of games, taking on Spalding and Transylvania on March 28 and 29.
