CINCINNATI – The Trine University completed their sixth double-digit victory of the season with a 20-4 win against Centenary College of Louisiana.
Connor Ballantyne led the way for the team offensively, recording seven points including three goals and four assists. Four other members of the team finished second with four points each. Riley Fischer led the team with four goals while Vin Pantano tied for most assists with four. Rocco Curatola and JJ Boos both had three goals and one assist. Mitchell Voglewede finished with two goals and Landen Kruse completed the list of multi-point players with a goal and an assist.
It took just over five minutes for the team to score their first goal, a tally by Caleb Edwards. They went on to three more in the first and take a 4-0 lead. The lead went to 6-0 before the Gents scored their first. The score was 11-2 at halftime.
Will Gonia scored a man-up goal to start the third quarter with the team scoring eight total in the period to build a commanding 19-2. Trine scored just one goal in the fourth, coming from Boos, to finish the game with the 20-4 victory.
In net, Luke Arnold secured the victory allowing two goals while making seven saves. In front of him Danny Kelly had four cased turnovers and three groundballs. Nick Fariello finished the game with a team high six groundballs while going 9-for-18 at the faceoff. Alec Jankowski went 4-for-7.
The Thunder finish the day 9-1. They will travel to face Capital University on Saturday, March 28 for their next game. That contest is set to start at 1 p.m.
