NEW ORLEANS - The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has announced its All-Academic Individuals and Teams. The Trine University men's cross country team earned the team award and had three individuals selected as All-Academic winners as well.Â
To earn the team award a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 or higher on a 4.0 scale in the most recent grading period. The Thunder posted a team GPA of 3.51Â for the semester.
To earn an individual selection an athlete must have a GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25% of their respective regional championship meet.Â
Tyler Hartleroad (Computer Engineering),
Ryan Hoopingarner (Computer Science and Information Technology), and
Nicholas Spielman (Mechanical Engineeing) earned the nod from the USTFCCCA for their performance on the course and in the classroom.
This is Hartleroad and Hoopingarner's second All-Academic award and Spielman's first.
