NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Trine University men's cross country team opened its season on a hot and humid Friday evening at Manchester University. The Thunder competed in a 5000-meter race on the Spartan's campus;
Nick Spielman took fourth place and was the top collegian in the field. The meet did not keep team scores.
Spielman crossed in 16:44.1 and
Clay Batio followed closely behind in seventh in 16:53.3.
Brady Millington,
Max Van Huis, and
Alex Hamilton rounded out the top five for Trine.
Zack Gaynor,
Nolan Grant, and
Soren Johnson were the next finishers for Trine in 18
th, 19
th, and 20
th places.
The Thunder head to the Michigan State Spartan Invitational next Friday, September 11. The start time has not been announced yet.
