Trine Fall to Flying Dutch

HOLLAND, Mich. – The Trine University men's soccer team scored a late equalizer, but Hope College responded and took the match by the score of 2-1.

The Flying Dutch scored the first goal of the game in the 23rd minute, cashing in on a dominate first period offensively. They outshot the Thunder 16-4 in the half, with seven of those shots going against Brandon Walker. Trine forced a pair of saves from the home keeper.

The Thunder had just one shot in the second period, but they made it count. Adam Nowicki took the attempt and put it into the back of the net. The freshman's first career goal tied the game in the 70th minute of the game.

It was a short-lived draw with the Flying Dutch retaking the lead less than a minute later. Overall Hope had 26 shots to five from Trine.
