WHEATON, Ill. – The Trine University women's soccer team played the Rochester Institute of Technology to a scoreless draw on Friday night at Joe Bean Stadium on the campus of Wheaton College (Ill.). Trine held a 4-3 advantage in shots on goal but the keepers for each squad were up to the task.
RIT managed all three of their shots in the first half while the Thunder waited until half two to take their four. The Tigers' first shot came off a corner kick in the 13
th minute, the shot came low center and
Madison Kinneer made the save. Kinneer made two more saves in the 25
th and 40
th minute turning away both shots in the low left corner.
It was Trine's turn in half two and they wasted little time, just 1:06 into the half
Lilly White put a shot on goal,
Jill Taylor sent another on goal in the 52
nd minute off of a corner kick.
Ava Leihgeber and
Darcy Satkowiak each registered shots, with Satkowiak's coming off a set piece in the corner. Satkowiak made one final attempt in the 89
th minute but it sailed over the goal.
Trine will play Wheaton tomorrow at 8:00 p.m.
