Women's Soccer Ties Wittenberg

ANGOLA, Ind. – Madison Kinneer made three saves as the Trine University women's soccer team tied Wittenberg University 0-0 on Saturday afternoon. Trine is now 4-1-3, the Tigers are 4-1-4.

Trine managed five shots on goal to the Tigers' three. Wittenberg held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks. Each team was able to find an offensive opportunity early in the game, both teams fired shots to the center of the net but each keeper was up to the task.

In the 68th minute, Dana Fish found a pair of shots. The first bounced off the left post, she corralled the ball and fired another shot across the goal that forced a diving save from the Tiger's keeper. The Thunder's best opportunity came in the 74th minute on a penalty kick. Maggie McDowell took the shot but again Wittenberg's goalie made a spectacular save to keep Trine off the scoreboard. Kinneer turned away a shot in the 88th minute to stymie the Tigers one more time.
