Thunder Shoot past Comets

BEXLEY, Ohio – The Trine University women's soccer team took home a Labor Day victory this afternoon at Bernlohr Stadium, defeating Capital University 3-0. Abby Robison, Dana Fish, and Gracie Pyle each scored for the Thunder who are now 2-0, the Comets drop to 1-1.

Robison started things early with a goal in the eighth minute. Erin Scully returned the favor from Friday's game, assisting Robison on her goal. Madison Kinneer again pitched a shutout in goal for the Thunder, she made seven saves to record her second career full time shutout in as many games.

The Thunder managed just one shot on goal in the first half, but it was a tale of two halves for the offense, they put 10 shots on goal in the second frame. The Thunder tallied 14 shots in the contest. Trine kept the pressure on sending six shots toward the Comet goal in the first 12 minute of the second half, four were on target but were all turned away by Capital's keeper. Fish netted her first goal in a Trine jersey in the 82nd minute to push the Thunder advantage to 2-0. Pyle added some insurance to the lead in the 86th minute with her first career goal.

Trine heads to Wheaton, Illinois this weekend for a pair of games against Rochester Institute of Technology and Wheaton (Ill.).
