LOUISVILLE, KY. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has announced its Top 10 GPAs and All-America Scholar-Athletes, both sponsored by Easton, for the 2024-25 academic year. The national champion Trine University softball team was represented in both awards.
As a team the Thunder finished the year with a 3.774 GPA, the sixth best among NCAA Division III NFCA members. Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) led the nation with a 3.830 with Pomana-Pitzer Colleges and Bates College rounding out the top-three. Trine is the only member of the NCAA Division III National Championship tournament field to appear on the list.
An impressive 20 members of the team achieved All-America Scholar-Athlete status. To earn the award student-athletes must achieve a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for the 2024-25 year. NCAA Division III led the association with 2,565 total recipients.

Trine swept Virginia Wesleyan University in the NCAA Division III Championship series to capture their second national championship in the past three seasons. They finished the season with a 46-5 record, tying the program record for most wins, but doing it with one less loss than the 2023 team who won the program's first National Championship in 2023.
