Men's Lacrosse Bitten by Bulldogs

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's lacrosse team took a tie game into halftime but ultimately were defeated by the visitors from Adrian College with a score of 12-7.

After both defenses dominated the first ten minutes of the quarter, the Bulldogs scored twice in the 11th minute to build a 2-0 lead. The Thunder's JJ Boos responded with just under three minutes left to send the game to the first intermission with a 2-1 score.

Boos scored again at the beginning of the second to tie the game and Riley Fischer gave the team their first lead with just under 12 remaining. The rest of the quarter went back-and-forth between the two teams. Boos scored twice more with Xavier Huber adding another to send the game to halftime 6-6.

Collin Custer opened the third quarter with his lone goal of the evening giving the team another lead at 7-6.

It was the final goal of the game for the team, with Adrian scoring six more in the final two quarters. The 12-7 score would eventually go final.

Luke Arnold played the game in net for the Thunder. He finished the game with 10 saves in the loss.

Trine falls to 11-4 overall and 1-3 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play. They will travel to face Hope College for their next contest. The game is scheduled for Saturday, April 19 with a 1 p.m. start.
